2. Here is a fairly informal FT8 user guide written by Gary, G4IFB. Please read it carefully. It tells you exactly how to set up your software, and how to successfully operate the mode. FT8 is VERY different to other digital modes so even if you are a seasoned digimode operator, its well worth a read. Missing a single trick can cost you a LOT of contacts. Please do note that FT8 is a WEAK SIGNAL mode. It only requires about 20-30 watts to work the world. Using a lot of power will damage your equipment due to the heavy duty cycle on the Power Amplifier (PA), and will also cause a lot of QRM to other users. Use the skills you learn from this document to catch contacts, NOT high TX power.
